Board Game Night

Lunch & Learn: Marriage and Finances

Many studies indicate the biggest hurdle in relationships are finances. Learn how to work together toward your financial goals during a workshop from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 6 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. The workshop is open to military members, retirees and their families. Lunch will be provided. Children are allowed under parental supervision.

Expecting a baby? Attend Bundles for Babies from 12:30-4:30 p.m. June 6 for information on preparing for a baby, budgeting for necessities, child care options, car seat safety, marriage and relationship changes, an overview of Air Force Aid Society Programs, and more. Balmer Ruck March

The 12th Annual Balmer Ruck March will be held at 8 a.m. June 7 to honor Special Agent Ryan Balmer who was killed in action June 5, 2007, at Kirkuk, Iraq. Balmer was a member of the AFOSI Detachment 113 at Hill Air Force Base. The march consists of a 10K and 5K starting and finishing at the parking lot directly south of building 1142. T-shirts will be sold during the event with proceeds donated to the Balmer family. Call 801-775-6015 for more information.

First Friday at The Landing

Celebrate with the base’s military promotes from 4-7 p.m. June 7 during First Friday at The Landing. First Friday is held every month. Enjoy free refreshments and visit the bar. Call The Landing at 801-777-3841 for more information.

LOA Golf Tournament

Register at hg-loa2019.golfgenius.com by June 7 for the Logistics Officer Association Golf Tournament to be held at 8 a.m. June 14 at the base’s Hubbard Memorial Golf Course. The tournament will consist of 32 teams of four. Cost is $75 per person and includes greens fee, golf cart, coffee and donuts, catered lunch and a raffle ticket for prizes. Call Capt. Heart Link for military spouses

Network with other military spouses and learn about on- and off-base resources. Heart Link will be held form 5-7:30 p.m. June 11 and is for military spouses with less than five years. However, the event is open to all military spouses. Hear from experts in the fields of military finance, morale, welfare and recreation, family advocacy, TRICARE, and more. Give Parents a Break

Free child care is offered for active duty families that are experiencing unique circumstances or hardships. The Give Parents a Break program requires a referral from the Airman and Family Readiness Center. The next session will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 8. Ditch the Dorm Workshop

Moving out of the dorm? A Ditch the Dorm Workshop will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. June 14 at The Landing and will provide information about the moving process, current and future finances, things to consider, preparing and moving, leases and applications. Base soccer team

Players from the Hill Air Force Base community are being actively recruiting for a base soccer team. The team regularly competes against neighbor bases, working toward representation at the Defenders Cup held over Labor Day weekend at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Practices are held weekly and will be used as tryouts to determine rosters for tournaments. Practices are open anyone with valid DoD ID and age 18 or older.
