Combined Federal Campaign
This year’s national Combined Federal Campaign is underway and runs through Jan. 11, 2019. The CFC has provided millions of dollars in voluntary donations and assistance to thousands of local, national and international non-profit organizations that seek to improve the quality of life of women and men across the globe. Voluntary contributions can be made electronically through the pledge site atcfcgiving.opm.gov and fulfilled via payroll deduction, credit/debit card, or personal check. The site includes a search feature that provides access to the thousands of charities.
Open Season/Health Fair
The 2019 Federal Benefits Open Season for health insurance, dental and vision insurance, and flexible spending accounts is Nov. 12- Dec. 10. Hill Air Force Base will hold a Health Fair with availability of health insurance carriers from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 4-6 at the Warrior Fitness Center, building 533. Brochures and information including 2019 premiums will be available at the Health Fair. Premiums can also be found on Office of Personnel Management website, www.opm.gov/insure/.
Hill AFB finance in-processing
Personnel at Hill can in-process with finance at 9 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at building 430. Per DODFMR Vol. 9, a travel claim must be filed within five working days of the traveler’s return to or arrival at a permanent duty station, or immediately when the orders are canceled. Comedy improv event
There will be a free CFC awareness event Nov. 30 from 6 to 7:45 p.m. at the Base Theater. Comedy improve troupe The Improvables will perform. The troupe is family friendly, and children are welcome. There will be a food truck for food purchases. The 2018 Combined Federal campaign kicked off Oct. 18. The Hill Air Force Base goal is to raise $500,000. Great American Smokeout
Every year in November, tobacco users across the country participate in the Great American Smokeout. If you use tobacco, consider this your month begin your quit. Encourage family and friends who use tobacco to join you, because the added support can be huge in helping you reach your goals. Jump start the quitting process by joining Hill Civilian Health Promotion Services for a tobacco cessation class. The next class with be from 11-11:30 a.m. Nov. 29 at Bldg. 533.
Legacy Christmas 2018
The Base Chapel invites Team Hill to a holiday celebration, “Legacy Christmas 2018.” Come meet Santa, eat goodies from Mrs. Claus’s kitchen, get a free family Christmas portrait, make crafts, decorate ginger bread houses, watch a live nativity play and much more. The event will be from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Base Chapel.
Holiday cookie drive
Organizers are looking for volunteers to donate 3,000 baked cookies for the annual Team Hill Airmen Cookie Drive. Each year Hill volunteers bake, collect, package and deliver holiday cookies for nearly 500 Airmen. Volunteers can deliver baked cookies from 7-9:30 a.m. Dec. 12 at The Landing.
