649th MUNS inventory

The 649th Munitions Squadron will conduct a 100 percent inventory of the base (FV2027), test (FV2171), and STAMP (FV2304) stockpiles from Sept. 4-28. All base, test, and STAMP customers requiring munitions support during this timeframe must deliver the applicable documentation to the custody accounts section no later than Aug. 21.

Fall cross country

Team Hill personnel and their families are invited to participate in the 2018 fall cross country season from Sept. 6 through Oct. 25. A total of eight races will be held during this timeframe. Races begin at 4:20 p.m. on base and are 3.2 miles in length.

Legacy Chapel open house

The Hill Air Force Base Chapel will hold an open house for base personnel and their families from 2-6 p.m. Sept. 7 at its Legacy Chapel, building 445. The event includes free food, drinks, a bounce house, face painting and music. Call 801-777-2106 for more information. Refreshments will be provided.

Military Salute Concert

A Military Salute Concert featuring the music of Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley will be held at 8 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Ed Kenley Amphitheater, 403 Wasatch Dr. in Layton. The amphitheater is an outside venue and limited seating is available; however, blankets and lawn chairs are welcome.

Discount tickets for military members will be buy one, get one free and can be purchased at the Davis Arts Council, 445 Wasatch Dr. in Layton. Military ID is required to receive the discount. Call 801-546-8575 for ticket pricing and other details.

Veteran’s Resource Fair

A resource fair for military veterans and their families will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Hill Aerospace Museum, 7961 Wardleigh Rd. outside of Hill’s Roy Gate. Veterans and their families can learn more about their benefits and have questions answered directly by representatives from federal, state, and local agencies and veteran advocacy organizations.

Lot 14 extension

Beginning the second week in September, construction will begin at parking lot 14 located west of building 9 and south of building 23.

The project will include relocating the fence line back onto the flight line, adding four light poles, replacing pavement, and striping the lot.

During the construction period, sections of the parking lot will need to be shut down, which will impact personnel in buildings 1A, 3, 5, 9, and 23 who use the lot.

Additional parking will be located at parking lot 1 located south of Wardleigh Rd. and east of E Ave. The project is estimated to take 3 months to complete and will add 114 regular parking stalls and 13 motorcycle stalls to the lot. Call 801-775-3316 for more information.

Air Force Ball Sept. 22

Save the date for an Air Force Ball to be held Sept. 22 at the Eccles Conference Center, 2415 Washington Blvd. in Ogden.
