Month of the Military Child Town Hall

The Hill Spouses’ Club will host a town hall at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Hill AFB Chapel. Brittany Boccher, 2017 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year, will speak on ways spouses and military familes can make their community stronger. The Hill Spouses’ Club will also discuss its efforts to bring an all-abilities playground to Hill AFB. The event is free. Refreshments will be provided. Anthrax vaccine rumor

Recent social media posts have revived false concerns about DoD Anthrax vaccines and fueled rumors the Veteran’s Administration is rating “100 percent disability” to service members who received specific lots of the vaccine at Ft. Drum and Ft. Campbell from 2001-2007. These claims are false and without merit according to Army and VA representatives. Hill AFB blood drive

A blood drive will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 27 at the Hill AFB Chapel. Schedule an appointment at www.redcross.org and enter keyword HAFB. Email Capt. Alexander Stanga at alexander.stanga.1@us.af.mil for details.

Prescription drug “Take Back Day”

Turn in your unused or expired prescription medication for safe disposal from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 28 at the Hill AFB Commissary or Base Exchange. Other

AFAF campaign

The Air Force Assistance Fund campaign is underway at Hill AFB until May 4. The Hill AFB goal is to raise $63,338 and donations will directly benefit Air Force Airmen, their families and retirees. Exchange gift card giveaway

Authorized AAFES Exchange shoppers can enter the Candy Carnival sweepstakes at ShopMyExchange.com/sweepstakes for a chance to win one of 10 $500 Exchange gift cards. Summer Expo 2018

The Hill AFB community is invited to a Summer Expo that will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11 at Outdoor Recreation located in building 805. More than 40 booths featuring on- and off-base services, cultural awareness information, and travel and recreation resources in the area will be available to patrons. Vendors will provide information on military discounts. Free hotdogs, chips and drinks will be provided while supplies last. Call 801-777-9666 for details.

Hiring Our Heroes career fair

Military members, veterans and spouses are invited to a career and benefits fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 15 at the Davis Conference Center located at 1651 N. 700 W. in Layton. Spouses & Scholars Spring Market

A Spouses & Scholars Spring Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 19 at building 430 located at 7437 6th Street. This is a base-wide yard sale and vendor event. Funds raised will support the Hill Spouses’ Club scholarship fund. Table rentals are $20 for yard sale participants and $30 for vendors. Hill Spouses’ Club members get a $10 discount. Report suspicious activity

Air Force Security Forces are committed to the security of Hill AFB, but security is everyone’s business. If you see or hear something suspicious, report it. The Air Force has long had a program called “Eagle Eyes” that enlists the eyes and ears of Air Force members and the public. Report suspicious activity to the Eagle Eyes hotline at 801-777-3056.
