Parking lot closure

Full rows from east to west in the southernmost third of Parking Lot #1, located north of the Base Exchange parking lot, will be closed from noon on June 25 through 5 p.m. on Aug. 20. However, the west end road will remain open to facilitate access to the IB Store and Security Forces building.

SR 193 construction

Utah Department of Transportation will continue road repairs on SR 193 from the Hill AFB South Gate east to Highway 89 through July 4. Work will be done at night from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. This could impact morning traffic going westbound on SR 193 from Highway 89 to the South Gate.

Tour of Utah volunteers needed

The 2017 Tour of Utah will pass through Hill AFB in August. Many volunteers are needed for the weeklong, professional cycling event. To volunteer for the Hill AFB segment, submit an application at www.tourofutah.com and request Hill AFB as the site you’d like to volunteer.

AFMC Family Days observed in 2017

Hill AFB will observe the following AFMC Family Days in 2017: July 3, in conjunction with Independence Day on July 4; Sept. 1, in conjunction with Labor Day on Sept. 4; Nov. 24, in conjunction with Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 23; and Dec. 26, in conjunction with Christmas on Dec. 25. The Hill AFB Roy Gate will be closed on all holidays including the Nov. 24 AFMC Family Day. Supervisors are encouraged to follow liberal leave procedures for Family Days and may approve annual leave, compensatory time, time-off award, credit hours, or leave without pay for their employees. AFSA holds monthly meetings on base

The Air Force Sergeants Association holds general membership meetings the last Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m. in The Landing. 

Members are encouraged to bring a nonmember with them.

‘Plane Talk’ series

The Hill Aerospace Museum hosts a plane talk series featuring speakers related to the heritage of Hill AFB and the U.S. Air Force. Plane Talk is held on Saturdays at 1 p.m. in the museum auditorium. Talks are open to the public. For information, contact 801-777-6818. Admission is free.
