Team Hill Ski Day
The Team Hill Ski Day will be held at Powder Mountain, March 31. Free day passes will be available for all active-duty military and veterans. Spouses, immediate family and civilians with a base ID will receive a 50 percent discount on day passes. Ski and snowboard rentals will be available from Outdoor Recreation for $20.

649th MUNS inventory
The 649th Munitions Squadron will be conducting a 100 percent inventory of the Depot (FV2172) stockpile from April 3-28, 2017. All Depot customers requiring munitions support during this timeframe must deliver the applicable documentation to the Custody Accounts section no later than March 21, 2017. During the inventory, the only transactions that will be supported are emergency requests approved in writing by the group commander or equivalent. Please direct any questions to Staff Sgt. Zions Bank Military Internship Program
Zions Bank is accepting applications for their upcoming Military Internship Program. The program is designed to help veterans return to civilian life. This 12-week internship can provide on-the-job training, banking work experience, positive networking opportunities and personal growth. Veterans and active guard/reserve members need to apply at www.zionsbank.com. Select the “Careers” button. Green Machine
The Installation Commander is activating the ‘Green Machine Program’ Thursday, April 20, designating it a base-wide clean-up day. All base employees and residents are asked to clean their respective areas in conjunction with Section 3.7 of the Facility Manager’s Handbook. Please pay particular attention to items stored outside of your buildings such as pallets and furniture; these need to be disposed of or turned in as appropriate. Do not place bulk items in facility dumpsters. The goal is to complete this task within 24 hours of notification.
May 5, AFSA golf tournament
The Air Force Sergeants Association is holding its 5th annual golf tournament at the Hubbard Golf Course, Hill Air Force Base, on Friday, May 5, at 8 a.m. This tournament is the primary fundraiser for the local AFSA chapter and proceeds will be used to advance the chapter’s interests and support various community outreach programs. Cost is $65 per person or $260 per team. The price includes fees, carts and lunch. The first 20 full teams to register and pay by April 14 will receive a goodie bag which includes extra putting string, two mulligans, a toss and four drawing tickets. Base tax center
The base tax center is open until Tuesday, Apr. 18. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The new location is 5837 D Avenue, Building 152. Tax return preparation is a free service for active duty, reservists on orders, dependents and retirees. Monday-Thursday will be by appointment 9 a.m.-noon and walk-ins accepted noon-3 p.m. Friday will be walk-ins 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. (non-complicated returns).
AFMC Family Days observed in 2017
Hill AFB will observe the following AFMC Family Days in 2017: May 26, in conjunction with Memorial Day on May 29; July 3, in conjunction with Independence Day on July 4; Sept. 1, in conjunction with Labor Day on Sept. 4; Nov. 24, in conjunction with Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 23; and Dec. 26, in conjunction with Christmas on Dec. 25. The Hill AFB West Gate will be closed on all holidays including the Nov. 24 AFMC Family Day. Supervisors are encouraged to follow liberal leave procedures for Family Days and may approve annual leave, compensatory time, time-off award, credit hours, or leave without pay for their employees. ‘Plane Talk’ series
The Hill Aerospace Museum hosts a plane talk series featuring speakers related to the heritage of Hill AFB and the U.S. Air Force. Plane Talk is held on Saturdays at 1 p.m. in the museum auditorium. Talks are open to the public. For information, contact 801-777-6818. Admission is free.
ROTC accepting applications
Air Force officials have announced 95 projected Air Force ROTC detachment instructor vacancies for summer 2017.
Eligible officers include active-duty first lieutenants, captains or majors in the line of the Air Force competitive category. Additional eligibility criteria must be met; rated officers and Guard and Reserve officers are not eligible to apply.
Interested officers can search for eligibility and application procedures on the myPers website using the keyword “AFROTC.”
