Base tax center
The base tax center is open until Tuesday, Apr. 18. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The new location is 5837 D Avenue, Building 152. Tax return preparation is a free service for active duty, reservists on orders, dependents, and retirees. Monday-Thursday will be by appointment 9 a.m.-Noon walki-ins accepted Noon -3 p.m.; walk-ins on Friday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. (non-complicated returns).
Estate claim
It is with deepest regret that the commander of the 388th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron announces the death of Airman 1st Class Jose G. Gutierrez. Any person with claims for or against the estate of Gutierrez can call 2nd Lt. Daniel J. Krokker, summary court officer, at 801-777-7772.
Hill AFB appreciation basketball game
The Weber State University men’s basketball team will play Northern Arizona University Feb. 4, 7 p.m., at the Dee Event Center. With proof of a government-issued ID, four free tickets for the game can be picked up at the Dee Event Center ticket office in Ogden from now until game day.
Swinging on a Star Gala Feb. 10
The Children’s Service Society will a host a ‘Swinging on a Star Gala’ Feb. 10, at the Marriott City Center. The event will feature dinner, cocktails, a Jazz Band, a Swing Dance performance, a program featuring child abuse prevention services, and prize drawings. Save the date
The United States Air Force Academy Concert Band will perform Monday, Feb. 13, 7 p.m., at the Browning Center for the Performing Arts, Weber State University. FREE tickets are available at the Hill AFB Public Affairs Office, Building 1102, Room 115, beginning Feb. 6 until the day of the show, and NOW at WSU Wildcat Store locations. The performance will feature the world premiere of a musical piece written by Christopher Marshall, who will be in attendance. Even though this is a free concert, it is highly encouraged that everyone get a ticket no later than 15 minutes before the concert. Non-ticket holders will be admitted if seating is available. Clinic, pharmacy closure Feb. 20
The 75th Medical Group Clinic and Pharmacy will be closed Feb. 20 in observance of Presidents Day.
International basketball tourney
The Air Force Services Activity seeks Airmen who want to play on the 2017 Headquarters Allied Air Command, HQ AIRCOM, Basketball Team for the upcoming HQ AIRCOM Basketball Championship. U.S. Air Forces in Europe applicants have priority since it’s a HQ AIRCOM event; however, non-USAFE applicants could be selected if slots are available. Training camp is March 14-20 at Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. The HQ AIRCOM championship is March 21-24 in Amsterdam. Submit an Air Force Form 303 by Feb. 6 via myPers along with local chain of command approval.
Hiring Utah’s Heroes job fair March 23
Hiring Utah’s Heroes is a job fair that will be held March 23 at the South Towne Exposition Center located at 9575 South State Street, Sandy. The event is free and open to military members, veterans and their spouses. The fair will feature more than 90 employers and is open to military members, veterans and their spouses. Additionally, several veterans services organizations will be on site to assist and provide information. All employers will have a variety of open positions available the day of the event. Team Hill Ski Day
The Team Hill Ski Day will be held at Powder Mountain, March 31. Free day passes will be available for all active-duty military and veterans. Spouses, immediate family and civilians with a base ID will receive a 50 percent discount on day passes. Ski and snowboard rentals will be available from Outdoor Recreation for $20.
AFMC Family Days in 2017
Hill AFB will observe the following AFMC Family Days in 2017 – May 2, in conjunction with Memorial Day on May 29; July 3, in conjunction with Independence Day on July 4; Sept. 1, in conjunction with Labor Day on Sept. 4; Nov. 24, in conjunction with Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 23; and Dec. 26, in conjunction with Christmas on Dec. 25. The Hill AFB West Gate will be closed on all holidays including the Nov. 24 AFMC Family Day. Supervisors are encouraged to follow liberal leave procedures for Family Days and may approve annual leave, compensatory time, time-off award, credit hours, or leave without pay for their employees.
