Munitions inventory coming Sept. 12-23

The 649th Munitions Squadron will be conducting 100 percent inventories of the base (FV2027), test (FV2171), and STAMP (FV2304) stockpiles from Sept. 12 – 23. All base, test, and STAMP customers requiring munitions support during this timeframe must deliver the applicable documentation to the custody Accounts section no later than Aug. 30. During the inventories, the only transactions that will be supported are emergency requests approved in writing by the group commander or equivalent. Please direct any questions to Tech. Sgt. Retiree appreciation set for Sept. 16

The 30th Annual Hill AFB Military Retiree Appreciation Day will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 16 at The Landing.

The latest information regarding military retiree benefits and activities will be available from more than dozen different information booths. A few of the participants will include Defense Finance and Accounting Service, Social Security, and the Veterans Administration, as well as the 75th Medical Group and 75th Mission Support Group. 

Flu and pneumonia vaccines will also be available. 

The guest speaker will be Leroy Bussells, Assistant Director for Retiree and Veteran Affairs with the Association of the U.S Army. For more information, call the RAO at 777-5735.

Road work to result in lane restrictions

Asphalt repairs  will be made to 6th Street on Hill AFB on Sept. 17. This is the street that runs in front of the Fire Station down to the Commissary. Work will impact the roadway from Southgate Avenue to “G” Street. Lane restrictions will be in place with some interruption to motorists from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Access will be allowed at all cross streets and base facilities. This is not a road closure.

Spiritual Breakfast set for Sept. 22

The Chapel will host a Spiritual Maintenance breakfast Sept. 22 at 7:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Breakfast is provided.

The first 100 people who register will receive a free resiliency book. The guest speaker will be retired Chaplain (Col.) Blake Boatright.

Intermountain CFC Campaign kicks off

The Hill AFB Combined Federal Campaign Kickoff will be held at The Landing on Sept. 29, at 11 a.m. The Landing is located on Hill AFB at 7420 Miller St., Bldg. 450. Kickoff activities include CFC giveaways, interaction with over 50 charities, and the opportunity to hear firsthand from those who benefit from services through CFC charities.

Hill Hockey Club needs players

The Hill Hockey Club is looking for players of all skill levels to fill a roster for its recreational team. The season begins Oct. 14, and games are played Friday evenings at the Ogden Ice Sheet. AFSA holds monthly meetings on base

Air Force Sergeants Association, holds general membership meetings the last Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m. in The Landing. 

Members are encouraged to bring a nonmember with them.

Family days for 2016

AFMC has designated the following days as “AFMC Family Days” for 2016:

Friday, Nov. 25 in conjunction with Thanksgiving Day.

Tuesday, Dec. 27 in conjunction with Christmas.

Nov. 25 will also be an “Energy Shutdown Day” and the West Gate will be closed this day and all holidays. Employees working compressed work schedules will change their regular day off to align with the family Energy Shutdown Day. Supervisors are encouraged to follow liberal leave procedures during the family days.

ROTC accepting applications

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas — Air Force officials have announced 95 projected Air Force ROTC detachment instructor vacancies for summer 2017.

Eligible officers include active-duty first lieutenants, captains or majors in the line of the Air Force competitive category. Additional eligibility criteria must be met; rated officers and Guard and Reserve officers are not eligible to apply.

Interested officers can search for eligibility and application procedures on the myPers website using the keyword “AFROTC.”
