Veterinary facility changes hours

The Hill AFB Veterinary Treatment Facility is changing its hours due to a temporary manning shortage. 

Pet registration will be available on Mon. and Wed. and clinic appointments on Tues. and Thurs. Hours on those days are 8 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. The VTF is closed on Fridays. 

Hours will be extended when manning returns to normal. Callers are asked to leave a message, and the VTF staff will return calls quickly. For more information or to make an appointment, call 801-777-2611.

USAF rock band performs for Utahns

The Air Force rock band called Mobility will perform at venues through September across Northern Utah. Concerts are free and open to the general public. Tickets are not required.

Concert times, dates and locations: 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Murray Amphitheater in Murray; 1 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Farmer’s Market in Park City; and 4 p.m. Sept. 15-16 at the Utah State Fair in Salt Lake City.

Mobility is part of the Air Force Band of the Golden West, stationed at Travis AFB, California. The band plays popular classics and today’s hits.

Hill AFB Air Force Ball

Hill Air Force Base’s Air Force Ball will be Sept. 19 at the Ogden Eccles Conference Center located at 2415 Washington Blvd. in Ogden. The social hour will begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and program at 6 p.m.

There will be music and dancing following the program. The attire for the event is mess dress or semi-formal for military and formal/black tie or business attire for civilians.

Menu options include Chicken Almondine, Top Sirloin Steak, or Roasted Vegetable Lasagna. The cost is dependent on rank or pay grade: $25 (E-1-E-4) (GS-07 & below); $35 (E-5-E-6) (GS-08-09) (WG-10 & below) (WL-9 & below) (WS-6 & below); $45 (E-7- O-5) (GS-11-GS-14) (WG-11 & above) (WL-10 & above) (WS-7 & above); and $50 (0-6 & above) (GS-15 & above) (community).

Team Hill Roundup set for Sept. 12

Team Hill spouses will host their annual Team Hill Roundup on Sept. 12 at HUB801 in Riverdale. 

The Western-themed event includes a silent and live auction, which raises thousands of dollars for Hill AFB Airmen and families.

Spiritual Maintenance Breakfast Sept. 17

The Team Hill Chapel staff will host a Spiritual Maintenance Breakfast 1 at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 17 at the Hill AFB Chapel Fellowship Hall. The event will feature guest speaker Maj. Gen. Jeff Burton, Adjutant General for the Utah National Guard. 

The event theme is “Finding Strength in Adversity.” A free breakfast will be provided.

649th MUNS inventories in Sept.

The 649th Munitions Squadron will be conducting 100 percent inventories of the base, test and STAMP stock piles during September.

Veterans Tribute Run

A Veterans Tribute Run will be held  at 10 a.m. Oct. 10. 

The run starts at the George E. Wahlen  Veterans Home, 1102 N. 1200 West in Ogden, and ends at the First United Methodist Church, at 1339 W. 400 North in Marriott-Slaterville. 

Cost is $25 before Sept. 30, $30 on the race day. Register at veteranstributerun.weebly.com or active.com.

AAFES Opens Hill AFB Domino’s Location

Domino’s pizza is now available on Hill AFB. It is located inside The Express in Bldg. 420. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Call, walk-in or online ordering is available. JLC offers free volunteer services

The 748th Supply Chain Management Group’s Junior Leadership Council, or JLC, would like to make life a little easier for Team Hill families dealing with a deployment. Whether your spouse or significant other is about to be, already, or is just returning from a deployment, the JLC would like to provide assistance at no cost. These volunteer services are being offered through the end of September.

Some of the services that the JLC can provide: yard work, basic car and house maintenance, meal delivery and more. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 503-840-8841.
