$750 education scholarship

The Hill Chiefs’ Group provides a $750 scholarship twice each year to an active Air Force, Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve enlisted Airman or their spouse within the Hill Air Force Base area. 6th Street construction

Excavation and replacement of asphalt along Hill AFB’s 6th Street from the Southwest Gate to South Gate Drive is occurring through Aug. 17. During the construction, at least one lane of traffic will remain open in each direction during construction hours. Lane closures will alternate between north and half of the road during the construction phase.

South Gate Visitor Center closure

The South Gate Visitor Center is closed through Aug. 10 for renovations. During this time, all customer service functions are at the West Gate Visitor Center located offt of I-15 exit 335. The West Gate Visitor Center is open 5 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Call 801-586-2360 for more information.

Financial Lunch n’ Learns

Monthly financial workshops covering a variety of topics will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hill Airman and Family Readiness Center. The workshop are available to service members and their families. Lunch is provided for registered attendees. Workshop dates will be July 12, Aug. 2, Sep. 27, Oct. 11, Nov. 8 and Dec. 6. Kids bowl free

The Hill Bowling Center has a free summer bowling program for youth ages 15 and younger. Eligible participants can sign up at www.kidsbowlfree.com and receive two free games of bowling every program day through Aug. 31. Call 801-777-6565 for details.

Report suspicious activity

Air Force Security Forces are committed to the security of Hill AFB, but security is everyone’s business. If you see or hear something suspicious, report it. The Air Force has long had a program called “Eagle Eyes” that enlists the eyes and ears of Air Force members and the public. Report suspicious activity to the Eagle Eyes hotline at 801-777-3056.
