Homeschool 101

Families interested in homeschooling can attend a Homeschool 101 workshop from 5:30-6:30 p.m. April 11 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Topics will include how to get started, Utah homeschool law, transitioning, curriculum, and support groups. Register by April 6. Call 801-777-4681 for details and to register.

Cross-country season

The Warrior Fitness Center will sponsor a cross-country program starting his month Eight races – one each week – will be held at 4:20 p.m. Thursdays April 5 through May 24. Courses are 5K in length and located at different locations around base. Runners, walkers and baby strollers are all welcome. Individual and team registrations will be offered. 3D archery shoot

The Hill AFB Archery Club will hold an archery shoot April 14-15 at the base’s 3D outdoor range. Single shooter and group shooters are welcome. Registration is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The last group will go out at 1 p.m. Cost is $10 for club members and $20 for non-members. Youth age 12-15 are $5 and 11 and younger are free. Month of the Military Child Town Hall

The Hill Spouses’ Club will host a town hall at 7 p.m. April 20 at the Hill AFB Chapel. Brittany Boccher, 2017 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year, will speak on ways spouses and military families can make their community stronger. The Hill Spouses’ Club will also discuss its efforts to bring an all-abilities playground to Hill AFB. The event is free. Refreshments will be provided. AFAF campaign

The Air Force Assistance Fund campaign is underway at Hill AFB until May 4. The Hill AFB goal is to raise $63,338 and donations will directly benefit Air Force Airmen, their families and retirees. 649th MUNS inventory

The 649th Munitions Squadron will conduct an inventory of the Depot (FV2172) stockpile through April 30. During the inventory, the only transactions supported will be emergency requests approved in writing by their group commander or equivalent. Call Staff Sgt. Spouses & Scholars Spring Market

A Spouses & Scholars Spring Market will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 19 at building 430 located at 7437 6th Street. This is a base-wide yard sale and vendor event. Funds raised will support the Hill Spouses’ Club scholarship fund. Table rentals are $20 for yard sale participants and $30 for vendors. Hill Spouses’ Club members get a $10 discount. Soccer players wanted

Military, civilians and family members are wanted to form a Hill AFB soccer team. The team will play in a Utah-based soccer league from April-October. It will also participate in the All-military Soccer Tournament in San Antonio, Texas, over Labor Day weekend. The tournament includes multiple teams from across the armed forces.
