The 2017 NGA Natural Northern States Pro Qualifier is scheduled for Sept. 30 at the Perry Egyptian Theater in Ogden. Prejudge is at 9 a.m. and the night show is at 6 p.m. For tickets and information contact James or Bianca Purtell at 801-499-3633.

Wheelchair basketball game

A wheelchair basketball game will be held at 4 p.m. on Oct. 4 at the Warrior Fitness Center between the Ogden Wheelin’ Wildcats and Team Hill leadership. The annual event is in recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Admission is free; however, guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate at the door. Annual RoundUp fundraiser Oct. 5

The spouses of Hill AFB and the Hill AFB Family Foundation (HAFBFF) will hold their annual RoundUp fundraiser Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. at the Hill Aerospace Museum. RoundUp raises funds that benefit base programs for military and DOD civilians and their families. The fundraiser includes dinner and live and silent auctions. Veterinary facility notice of closure

The Hill AFB Veterinary Treatment Facility will be closed due to staffing Sept. 25-Oct. 6 and will reopen Oct. 9. As a reminder, the Hill AFB Veterinary Treatment Facility is open Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. Pets can be registered on Mondays and Wednesdays and appointments are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The facility is closed Fridays, all federal holidays, and the last business day of every month for inventory. For questions, please call 801-777-2611.

Combat dining-in

Team Hill 5/6 will host a combat dining-in for all Hill AFB military members Saturday, Oct. 14, 5-8 p.m. in Bldg. 295. Cost is $10 and this includes a meal. AFMC Family Days observed in 2017

Hill AFB will observe the following AFMC Family Days in 2017: Nov. 24, in conjunction with Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 23; and Dec. 26, in conjunction with Christmas on Dec. 25. The Hill AFB Roy Gate will be closed on all holidays including the Nov. 24 AFMC Family Day. Supervisors are encouraged to follow liberal leave procedures for Family Days and may approve annual leave, compensatory time, time-off award, credit hours, or leave without pay for their employees. Events to benefit veterans

The 10th Annual George E. Wahlen Veterans Tribute Run and Chili Cook-off will be held Saturday, Oct. 14. There will be 5K and 10K runs and a 1-mile walk followed by a chili cook-off. Proceeds will be donated to the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home in Ogden. The event begins at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home (1102 N. 1200 W., Ogden) at 10 a.m. and ends at the First United Methodist Church (1339 W. 400 N. in Marriott-Slaterville). ALS civilian school Nov. 8-Dec. 14

Are you interested in learning how to be an effective supervisor and leader in your work center? All eligible Team Hill civilian employees are now able to attend the Hill Airman Leadership School (ALS). This enlisted professional military education course is a voluntary opportunity to broaden knowledge of the military profession while learning leadership skills and how to lead and manage teams. The knowledge gained through this course not only will provide a background on how to supervise military but it also enhances skills for supervising civilian employees. All completed nomination packages are due to the ALS org box 75FSS.FSDA@us.af.mil by Sept. 27 with interviews the week of Oct. 2.
