Engineers Week 21-25 Feb
It’s time to celebrate the technical disciplines! To help, Hill’s AFSC/EN, BAE, AIAA, and other professional partners have joined forces to set aside a whole week of amazing activities. South Gate Visitor Center adjusts hours
The South Gate Visitor Control Center will adjust its hours of operations beginning March 1. The new hours will be 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. The VCC will be closed at all other times, including weekends and federal holidays. The VCC will be open on AFMC Family Days. Customers who need to sponsor guests on base while the VCC is closed, will need to do so through the South Gate Entry Control Point. Base employees can also access the VCC SharePoint site at https://cs.eis.afmc.af.mil/sites/Hill/VCC/default.aspx to sponsor visitors on base. 75th Security Forces Squadron officials said this change will allow them to reallocate more of their resources to the base’s security and the safety of its residents and workers. 388th MXG awards banquet
The 388th Maintenance Group will hold its annual Maintenance Professional of the Year Banquet at 4 p.m. March 4 in Hangar 37. 649th MUNS inventories
The 649th Munitions Squadron will be conducting 100 percent inventories of the Base (FV2027), Test (FV2171), and STAMP (FV2304) stockpiles from March 1-31. All Base, Test, and STAMP customers requiring munitions support during this timeframe must deliver the applicable documentation to the Custody Accounts section NLT Feb. 21. During the inventories, the only transactions that will be supported are emergency requests approved in writing by the group commander or equivalent. Please direct any questions to Tech. Sgt. Hiring Utah’s Heroes job fair March 23
Hiring Utah’s Heroes is a job fair that will be held March 23 at the South Towne Exposition Center located at 9575 South State Street, Sandy. The event is free and open to military members, veterans and their spouses. The fair will feature more than 90 employers. Additionally, several veterans services organizations will be on site to assist and provide information. All employers will have a variety of open positions available the day of the event. Team Hill Ski Day
The Team Hill Ski Day will be held at Powder Mountain, March 31. Free day passes will be available for all active-duty military and veterans. Spouses, immediate family and civilians with a base ID will receive a 50 percent discount on day passes. Ski and snowboard rentals will be available from Outdoor Recreation for $20.
Base tax center
The base tax center is open until Tuesday, Apr. 18. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The new location is 5837 D Avenue, Building 152. Tax return preparation is a free service for active duty, reservists on orders, dependents and retirees. Monday-Thursday will be by appointment 9 a.m.-noon and walk-ins accepted noon-3 p.m. Friday will be walk-ins 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. (non-complicated returns). Call 801-777-1040.
AFMC Family Days in 2017
Hill AFB will observe the following AFMC Family Days in 2017: May 26, in conjunction with Memorial Day on May 29; July 3, in conjunction with Independence Day on July 4; Sept. 1, in conjunction with Labor Day on Sept. 4; Nov. 24, in conjunction with Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 23; and Dec. 26, in conjunction with Christmas on Dec. 25. The Hill AFB West Gate will be closed on all holidays including the Nov. 24 AFMC Family Day. Supervisors are encouraged to follow liberal leave procedures for Family Days and may approve annual leave, compensatory time, time-off award, credit hours, or leave without pay for their employees.
