Team Hill invited to celebrate USAF birthday Sept. 19

Every year, Air Force bases across the world hold an Air Force Ball to celebrate the birthday of the United States Air Force; it is a chance to honor the history and heritage of our Air Force. The AF Ball is also a chance to celebrate the contributions the base has made and continues to make to that history and heritage.

While the Air Force is celebrating its 68th birthday, Team Hill is also celebrating its 75th birthday. Team Hill has a proud legacy and continues to significantly contribute to the success of the Air Force mission.

The theme for this year’s ball is “Team Hill…Road to 75 years” and will celebrate this milestone in a fun, party-like atmosphere with people from across the base and community.

The Air Force Ball committee has focused on making this year a true birthday celebration. One major change will be not having a guest speaker. How many birthday parties do you go to where there is a guest speaker? However, there will be videos, photographs and displays celebrating the Air Force and Team Hill.

Another change from last year is that the Child Development Center will be providing child care for a fee. People planning to use this service must RSVP through the e-invitation site no later than Sept. 1.

The AF Ball is a chance to show our appreciation for the support the community provides to Team Hill. During the program we will recognize a Wingman Award recipient; this is an annual award presented to a community member whose actions have consistently gone above and beyond in support of Team Hill.

Last but not least, music and dancing will follow the dinner and program.

The 2015 Team Hill AF Ball, which is sponsored by the Hill AFB Company Grade Officer Council, will be held Sept. 19 at the Ogden Eccles Center, 2415 Washington Blvd., Ogden.

The social hour begins at 5 p.m., followed by the dinner and program at 6 p.m. The event is open to any past or present military, civilians and community members. Registration and payment are done through a website at http://tinyurl.com/AFBall2015. Tickets will not be sold at the door. There will not be any paper tickets. Attendees will only need to check in at the event.

The attire for the event is mess dress or semi-formal for military and formal/black tie or business attire for civilians.

We hope to see you there!
