AF provides free CNA training
The Airman &Family Readiness Center is helping active-duty Air Force spouses complete the Certified Nursing Assistant program for free through the Davis Applied Technology College in Kaysville. That includes tuition, fees, textbooks and nursing curriculum.
If students can dedicate 12 hours a week to the course, they can be completed/certified within two months. They can be certified faster if they choose the base on the various schedules they accept or if they can attend more than 12 hours per week.
The certification is valid anywhere in the United States. The DATC also can assist with local job placement.
The A&FRC has additional information regarding CNA training through the ACE program under the Department of Work Force Services in Clearfield, if needed. The ACE program can offer funding for all military spouses regardless of service branch.
Availability for this grant is limited to the first 10 applicants. Other qualified candidates may be able to utilize the CNA training offered by the ACE program.
Class start dates vary throughout the year, so interested spouses can call for start dates, times and availability. Contact Scott Jones or Sam Child at 801-777-4681.
