Hess Fitness Center closed Aug. 4-9
The Hess Fitness Center (Bldg. 520) will be closed Aug. 4-9 to support the change from steam fed to natural gas heated water. The Warrior Fitness Center and Bubble will remain open.
Tour of Utah base impacts Aug. 4
A professional bicycle race is scheduled to pass through Hill AFB with some impacts to access gates and roadways from approximately 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Aug. 4. During this time period, the South Gate will be reduced to exit only and the Roy Gate will be closed. The West Gate will be open and operating under normal conditions and is the preferred gate to use during this time. After all race participants and support vehicles pass through the base, normal traffic will resume.
Free military appreciation event
Roy Christian Church will host an evening of fun, food, and prizes at the Roy Aquatic Center for Airmen and families with an active duty or reserve ID card. The free event will be Saturday, Aug. 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. For information call 801-731-4378 or visit www.roychristian.org.
ALS civilian attendance Sept. 22-Oct. 26
Are you interested in learning how to be an effective supervisor and leader in your work center? All eligible Team Hill civilian employees are now able to attend the Hill Airman Leadership School (ALS). This enlisted professional military education course is a voluntary opportunity to broaden knowledge of the military profession while learning leadership skills and how to lead and manage teams. The knowledge gained through this course not only will provide a background on how to supervise military but it also enhances skills for supervising civilian employees.

Free Ogden Raptors tickets Aug. 11
The Top of Utah Military Affairs has free tickets for Hill Appreciation Night with the Ogden Raptors at Lindquist Field, Friday, Aug. 11, at 7 p.m. Unit POCs can pick up tickets for their organizations at the 75th Air Base Wing Public Affairs Office, building 1102, room 115, between 8 a.m.-3:30 pm, Monday – Thursday until the day of the game.
Chief’s Group Golf Tournament
The 20th annual Chiefs’ Group Golf Tournament will be held Aug. 18 at the Hubbard Golf Course, Hill AFB. Entry fee is $60 per person or $240 per team. Registration is at 7 a.m. and a shotgun start will begin at 8 a.m.; the format is a four-person scramble. Entry fee includes green fee, golf cart, lunch and prizes to include a $10,000 hole-in-one. Commander’s Cup golf tourney
The Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah is hosting the Commander’s Cup Golf Tournament Sept. 5. Check in begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by a clinic at 11:15 a.m. before the shotgun start at noon. The $150, per golfer, covers the cost of green fees, cart, food and prizes; all proceeds benefit the Hill Aerospace Museum. To participate, sign up to play by Aug. 26. Air Force Ball
The Air Force Ball will be held Sept. 23 at the Eccles Center in Ogden; social hour begins at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. The event is open to all DOD employees, military members, retirees, and their guests. Parking lot closure
Full rows from east to west in the southernmost third of Parking Lot #1, located north of the Base Exchange parking lot, will be closed through 5 p.m. on Aug. 20. However, the west end road will remain open to facilitate access to the IB Store and Security Forces building.
