Heart Link for spouses

Would you like to connect with other new spouses and learn about Hill AFB’s on- and off-base resources? If so, attend the Oct. 3 Heart Link event at the Airman and Family Readines Center. Heart Link is an event that targets spouses new to the military or the base and provides a fantastic opportunity to hear from base leadership, meet other spouses, get some fun free gifts, and enjoy a dinner together. There will be a panel of base agencies at the event to provide information and answer questions to include: Finance, Tricare, family advocacy, force support and more. Veterans Affairs outreach event

The Veteran’s Benefit Administration and Veteran’s Health Administration will hold an outreach event from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 4 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center. The format for the event is one-on-one with VA representatives, similar to a job fair, not a class or briefing. This ensures that veterans can ask specific questions relevant to their situation. Acrylic painting class

Discover your creative side at one of Arts & Crafts’ acrylic painting classes. On Oct. 10 from 4:30-7:30 p.m., learn how to paint a Halloween cat scene. Cost is $25 and covers instruction, materials, and a take-home masterpiece you create. Children age 6 and older are welcome to attend if accompanied by an adult. First Friday

Join your Wingman at The Landing to celebrate Hill Air Force Base’s latest promotees Oct. 4 from 4-7 p.m. Enjoy refreshments and visit the bar. For more information, call The Landing at 801-777-3841.

Catch all the heavy-hitting action on the big screen Oct. 5 from 6-11 p.m. at The Landing. Watch Whittaker and Adesanya go head to head in the middleweight main event and Laquinta and Hooker in the lightweight co-main event category. Specials will be available. Wheelin’ Wildcats wheelchair basketball

The 11th annual Wheelin’ Wildcats vs. Team Hill leadership basketball game will take place Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. at the Warrior Fitness Center. This game puts base leaders in wheelchairs and pits them against semi-professional wheelchair basketball athletes. The game is to promote National Disability Awareness Month. Units throughout the installation and families are encouraged to come out and cheer on their associated senior leadership. Canned good donations will be accepted during the game and benefit the Airman’s Attic Food Pantry. The event is free. For more information, call Tech. Sgt. Hill or Tech. Sgt. Pumpkin 5K run/walk

Enjoy refreshments and a pumpkin giveaway at this fall-themed 5K on the Duck Pond Route. Those interested can win a prize for the best pumpkin costume at this event. Rockies Clarinet Quartet performance

The U.S. Air Force Academy Band’s “Rockies Clarinet Quartet” from Colorado Springs will perform a free concert at the Bountiful High School auditorium in Bountiful Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. The evening will feature an eclectic mix of traditional clarinet quartet literature, exciting new works, and arrangements originating from folk and popular styles. Tickets are free and can be picked up in Bountiful at the Bountiful City Office, 150 N. Main Street, Suite 101; Murphy’s Guitars, 133 N. Main Street; or Bun Basket Bakery, 96 S. Main Street. Haunting on the Hill

The 11th annual Haunting on the Hill trunk-or-treat event will be held Oct. 18 from 5-7:30 p.m. Bring your family to The Landing for food, prizes, games, a magic show, and a trunk-or-treat decorating contest. Decorated trunks are still needed for the event. If you would like to volunteer or register your trunk for the contest, please visit 75fss.com/haunting. Midnight at the Masquerade

Enjoy a night of mystery, mayhem, and murder at this year’s interactive murder mystery dinner theatre at The Landing. See the Murder Mystery Company from Denver perform live starting at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25. Cost is $25 for a night of entertainment that includes a slow-roasted prime rib dinner served with salad, potatoes, veggies, and salted caramel cheesecake.
