Reserve recruiter brings active duty experience to 419th

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — As the 419th Fighter Wing continues to capture talent and experience from Airmen leaving active duty, Tech. Sgt. Casey George steps in as the Air Force Reserve unit’s new in-service recruiter here.

“Airmen who transition into the Reserve bring a wealth of experience and knowledge,” George said. “As a recruiter, I work with all active duty Air Force members assigned to Hill who are within six months of their separation date.”

About 43 percent of the wing’s more than 1,200 personnel served on active duty before joining the Air Force Reserve.

George said there are two ways to transition to the Reserve. Palace Front allows Airmen to roll into Reserve service the day after their date of separation from active duty. Palace Chase allows Airmen who have completed at least half of their active duty commitment to request early separation into the Reserve.

“As always, we are looking for quality over quantity,” George said. “Any fully qualified members who are looking to continue to serve on a part-time basis can reach out to me or any of our recruiters here on base, and we can answer any questions they may have.”

Reserve recruiters can be reached at 801-777-3330.

Before joining the recruiting team here, George served as both an active duty and Reserve recruiter on the east coast. Before that, he worked in security forces and deployed twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

“I love recruiting because it’s not a thankless job,” he said. “You see the impact you have on Airmen’s careers and the lives of their families on a daily basis.”
