419th MDS reaches out to homeless community

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — Reservists in the 419th Medical Squadron made good use of their lunch break Friday, packing 90 sack lunches for homeless children in the Salt Lake City area.

“No kid should go hungry,” said Master Sgt. Angelia Kelsey, 419th MDS first sergeant. “This is a great opportunity to get involved with supporting our community, and it’s exciting to do this together as a squadron.”

Airmen delivered the items with help from The Road Home, a non-profit social service agency that assists homeless individuals and families across the Wasatch Front.

The MDS is home to about 100 Reserve Citizen Airmen charged with keeping the 419th Fighter Wing’s personnel medically ready to deploy. The squadron employs flight surgeons, nurses, emergency medical technicians, dentists, dental hygienists and more.
