Delta Air Lines named 419 FW’s top employer

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — The 419th Fighter Wing named Delta Air Lines its Employer of the Year during its annual awards banquet held Saturday. This marks the second time Delta has received the honor.

Delta also received the Seven Seals Award from the Northern Utah chapter of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, which recognizes supportive civilian employers of part-time military personnel.

Delta Air Lines is one of the largest employers of Reserve and Guard personnel in Utah, including one-third of F-35 pilots in the 419th FW. In 2018, the airline went above and beyond to accommodate the military commitments of its employees, supporting worldwide deployments of pilots and maintainers for three to six months at a time. The airline also granted extended military leave to several pilots on long-term orders to support F-35 flying operations at Hill AFB.

The company also supports military families by granting extended personal leave for members during pre- and post-deployment. Additionally, Delta often reaches out to deployed employees, sends care packages, and stays in touch with spouses to offer support. They have also donated to the Reserve Alumni Charitable Association, which supports 419th Airmen and their families.
