HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah —
Top Air Force athletes recently competed the Alpha Warrior Osprey Mountain Regional competition, hosted by Hill at the Warrior Fitness Center.
The winner of the event with a time of 2:32:66 was 1st Lt. William Holmquist of Fairchild AFB, Washington. Just six seconds behind the winner was 2nd Lt. Andrew Lee, 416th Supply Chain Management Squadron at Hill. Lee and Holmquist will represent the Mountain region at the Air Force finals on the Battle Course at Retama Park in San Antonio Nov. 17. They will compete against top representatives from the other regions.
The course consisted of 13 stations, with the basic goal to go through the course as fast as possible while completing each exercise properly. Exercises included burpees, landmine squats, a rope climb and other dynamic workouts that must all be performed within four minutes.
Participants who finished the competition in under four minutes included Lee, Staff Sgt. Brandon Novenario and Staff Sgt. Justin Southichack from Hill; Holmquist and Staff Sgt. Joseph Needham from Fairchild AFB; and Staff Sgt. Cody Tippet from Mountain Home AFB, Idaho.
The Air Force Alpha Warrior Program incorporates the four pillars of Comprehensive Airmen Fitness to achieve resiliency at home and down range. The fitness center houses the multi-station devices, which enhance functional fitness training in individuals and teams.
