Holiday message from 75th ABW leaders

Team Hill Airmen,

Before you start your holiday leave and travel, we would like to take this opportunity to pass along our best wishes for your happiness, well-being and prosperity in the coming year. Your time off is well deserved and we know you will take advantage of breaks from work to unwind, reflect on the past year, and strengthen bonds with loved ones.

We would also like to thank you for the contributions you have made over the past year. Among many other accomplishments, in 2017 you were responsible for base improvements to include new housing and mission partner facilities. You were part of many firsts to include operational F-35 deployments to Europe and Asia. You took part in successful MAJCOM-level inspections, supported national level events, and produced aircraft and commodities that are now operating around the world in support of the Air Force mission. You were also instrumental in two major league events enjoyed by many base personnel and families: the 5th stage of the Tour of Utah professional cycling race, which passed through Hill AFB, and the Utah Jazz’s scrimmage basketball game at the Warrior Fitness Center. You also celebrated the Air Force’s 70th anniversary, you deployed and redeployed, you built public trust with your volunteer efforts and participation in base and community events, and you demonstrated pride and dedication every day!

Your efforts, whether at home or away, have made this nation safer, strengthened community relationships, and made Hill AFB a great place to live, work and recreate.

While you reflect on your many accomplishments, please remember that some of your fellow Airmen, co-workers and friends are serving far from home; others will remain in the local area, away from their families. Make contact with them, wish them well and ask if there is anything they need from you. Make sure they are taken care of and have opportunities to enjoy the holidays as much as you will.

Finally, take care of yourselves and others. While the holidays provide opportunities to take part in good cheer, do so responsibly and make sure those around you are making good decisions. Have plans in place before festivities begin and ensure everyone gets home safely … we need you in the New Year – we have so much to look forward to!

Warmest Regards,

Colonel Hammerstedt

and

Chief Koonce,
