HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — Construction projects scheduled to occur near the base this month will have an impact on motorists.
Feb. 12-16 –
Due to construction at 5600 South near the Roy Gate by the Utah Department of Transportation, the Roy Gate will close at noon Feb. 12 and reopen at 9 a.m. Feb. 16.
Construction will not affect the Interstate 15/5600 South interchange, the access road or the ramps.
In order to accommodate base traffic during this time, the West Gate will be open 24 hours. Commercial traffic will be rerouted to the East Gate and will also be open 24 hours.
Feb. 26-29 –
Additionally, construction on 650 North in Clearfield on Feb. 26-29 will not close any gates at Hill AFB; however, traffic leaving the base through the West Gate on Friday, Feb. 26, toward Clearfield or intending to head southbound on the I-15 on ramp will not be able to pass through.
Motorists will need to travel an alternate route. Traffic will be able to flow out the West Gate onto the north bound I-15 on-ramp. Traffic will also be able to exit the I-15 off-ramp to the West Gate.
The route will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 29
