Preparing for the upcoming flu season is essential in protecting yourself and your family members. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older.

The flu vaccine is designed to protect against the three or four main flu strains research indicates will cause the most illness during the flu season. To receive maximum protection throughout the flu season, receive the flu vaccine as soon as it becomes available.
