Airmen shave heads to support pilot’s daughter

HILL AIR FORCE BASE — Nearly 80 Airmen from the 419th Fighter Wing and 388th Fighter Wing shaved their heads March 23 to show support for 6-year-old Gracie, who is undergoing chemotherapy while battling lymphoblastic lymphoma.

Gracie is the daughter of Maj. Nathan Litz, an F-16 pilot and 419th chief of safety. During the event, hosted by the 388th Operations Support Squadron, Gracie helped give her dad a “clean-shaven” look.

Several military spouses also donated their hair to Locks of Love, and some of Litz’s deployed colleagues sent photos of them participating in the event overseas. The event helped bring awareness to all those who endure childhood cancer.
