75th Medical/Dental Group gives back

HILL AIR FORCE BASE — On Friday, the 75th Medical/Dental Group spouses will gather in the Hill Air Force Base Chapel to make fleece blankets for the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home. Blankets and candy bars will be delivered to residents in December as a holiday treat.

The group has occasionally helped residents play Bingo on Saturdays, and knows that the candy bars are great for prizes. “Being able to support our veterans that have served in the past is very rewarding and it gives us a chance to give back to our military community. As always, we appreciate and are grateful for their service,” said Tina Cook, a 75th Medical/Dental Group spouse involved with organizing this event. “The veterans home has 120 beds, so we are looking to have enough fleece donated to give each resident their own lap blanket, and possibly their own candy bar.”

Donations for this group’s efforts can be taken to the Med Group and specifically to Terry Clemens on the 2nd floor command section. All medical/dental spouses are invited to attend the blanket-making event on Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

“We are very fortunate in the military to be apart of a special community,” Cook said. “We enjoy the feeling of extending our Hill community to those that served before us.”
