Haunting at Hill 2014

On Oct. 24, superheroes, princesses, witches, and more swarmed the Hill for the 6th annual Haunting the Hill event on Hill Air Force Base.

Team Hill family members were welcomed out to The Landing for a hauntingly fun evening where children could dress up and participate in numerous fall festivities.

The event was “originally entitled Haunting on the Hill when we hosted the event at the Hubbard Golf Course, but we outgrew that location after 2 years and then it became Haunting Around the Hill, as we hosted it at the Landing, Library, and Base Theater,” said one event coordinator, Janet Seachris. “We’re now Haunting the Hill and it’s centrally located at The Landing in the event of inclement weather, which could prevent families from venturing outdoors to trek to the other locations.”

Families lined up for the Trunk-or-Treat, coordinated by Victoria Jozwiak, a member of the Enlisted Spouses’ Club, where children could weave through festively decorated trunks to trick-or-treat in a fun and safe environment. The 75th Force Support Squadron provided the candy for the trunks and according to Seachris, “Our new 75th Air Base Wing commander, Col. Ron Jolly, challenged his squadrons to enter a trunk in the competition while being part of a great family friendly event that shows appreciation to all of our Team Hill families, promoting a greater sense of community and strengthening family relationships.”
