TOUMAC hosting picnic

As a way to thank the military at Hill Air Force Base for their service, the Top of Utah Military Affairs Committee is hosting the Salute to Our Nation’s Defenders Picnic on July 18 at Centennial Park.

The Top of Utah Military Affairs Committee, or TOUMAC, is a joint committee made up of the Davis Chamber of Commerce and the Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce. The two chambers will have help sponsoring this event from many area businesses including Davis Hospital and Medical Center, Zion’s Bank, American First Credit Union, Gastronomy Inc. and CenturyLink.

This year’s picnic includes catered gourmet food, live music performed by Red Shot Pony, nine inflatables, a climbing wall, and fire department and security forces equipment displays.

All active duty, Guard and Reserve military personnel, TOUMAC members, and their families are invited to join in on the fun July 18 from 3-7 p.m. at Centennial Park. Food will be served from 3-6 p.m.

Event coordinators hope families will come out and enjoy this free event and feel the support of the community for their service to our country.

“TOUMAC members look forward to this annual picnic as it provides them an opportunity to work for and mingle with our great Airmen and their families stationed at Hill AFB,” says Barbara Riddle, Salute Picnic Chair of the Top of Utah Military Affairs Executive Committee. “In short, there is amazing food, ice-cold beverages, camaraderie, entertainment and fun for all ages.”

RSVP’s are being gathered through First Sergeants, but are not mandatory for attendance.
