There are multiple lane restrictions throughout the base because of construction.
The 75th Civil Engineer Group has contracted a utilities project for Canberra Street buildings that requires the contractor to trench across Canberra Street at various locations to make connections or replacement for the existing sanitary sewer, steam line, water system and storm sewer.
This effort is scheduled through Oct. 3, weather permitting. During this time, Canberra Street, north of Building 55, will be partially closed. Traffic will be reduced to one lane. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained with metal plates over the construction trenches.
Canberra Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic at all times, and alternate routes will not be necessary.
Access to parking Lot 2A, between Building 36 and Building 41, will be maintained as much as possible; however, there will be times that partial access to Lot 2A will be restricted.
Restrictions come to an end soon for the project on Wardleigh Road.
This effort is scheduled through July 12, weather permitting. Wardleigh Road north of Building 849, starting at east end of Building 55, will be partially closed during this project. Traffic will be reduced to one lane each way. Accessibility will be maintained as deemed safe around construction equipment.
