A Halo Tournament will be held on Monday, Sept. 21, at the BX Food Court. Participants will need to sign up at GameStop and must be 17 years of age or older to participate due to the mature rating of the game. Taco Bell and Anthony's Pizza will be open during this event so that food and drinks will be available for purchase. The tournament will start at 8:30 p.m and will be played on four big screen televisions loaned to the GameStop organizers by the Main Exchange.
The new version of Halo ODST, which will be released at midnight on Sept. 21, goes back to the first person shooter aspect. The main character will be the Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. The winner of the tournament will receive a $50 GameStop gift card.
"We had really good attendance at our Madden tournament in August, including both participants and observers," said Susan Heaps, Army and Air Force Exchange Service manager. "We expect the same level of interest with the Halo Tournament," she said.
GameStop is currently taking pre-orders for the Halo ODST game. The store is also taking in trades on used games, which can be put toward the purchase of new games at the store.
