Hilltop Times Web site software update

A software update temporarily affected the Hilltop Times Web site, www.hilltoptimes.com, in loading its most recent stories for a few days. The issue will soon be resolved. Readers can find the latest articles online or in print at newspaper racks throughout the base and in the lobby of the Standard-Examiner.

Power outage at Hess Building, the Bubble

Building 520, the old gym, and Facility 10570, the Bubble, will close Sunday, Sept. 13, at 6 a.m. for approximately 12 hours to install a new transformer. For information, contact Steve Chamews, at 777-3479.

Lane closures at times at South Gate

Starting Saturday, Sept. 12, and continuing every Saturday thereafter through Sept. 26, there will be intermittent lane closures to allow civil engineering technicians to perform maintenance on the bollard barrier system on South Gate Drive. This maintenance is necessary to improve the efficiency of this mission critical system.

Power pole work to cause outage

There will be a power outage Sept. 20 at 7 a.m., lasting for approximately 10 hours, in order to replace an unsafe power pole with high voltage connections which will affect all the 1800 building area and the following facilities:

Buildings 1834, 1833, 1824, 1823, 1805, 1806, 1816, 1836, 1815, 1826, 1813, 1812, 1821, 1847, 1928, 1929, 2717, 1919, 1901, 1902, 1903 and 1904.

Lane closure ahead on HIckory Road

There will be a lane closure on Hickory Road to install a drain beginning at 6 a.m., Sept. 23 , and continuing through Sept 25.

The work will encompass the area just to the south and west of Building 1621. Hickory Road will be reduced to one lane at that point.

LOA to hold new membership lunch

The Logistics Officer Association invites all members and those interested in becoming members to join the group for a luncheon with Maj.Gen. Andrew Busch on Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. Lunch will be held at the Log Cabin and will consist of a catered Dutch-oven style meal including an entre', salad, drink and roll at a cost of $10. Busch is the Ogden Air Logistics Center commander and will be the guest speaker during the luncheon. For more information, contact Lt. Our Heroes' Tree at the Gerrity Library

The Gerrity Memorial Library at Hill Air Force Base is partnering with the Military Family Research Institute and other libraries around the country in a program that honors past and present service members. Our Heroes' Tree is a national program founded to recognize and honor the sacrifices of current service members, veterans and deceased service members.

To participate in Our Heroes' Tree, simply bring a wallet size photo of the service member from past and present wars, conflicts or peacetime operations to the library during the months of September and October where it will be placed on the tree.
