EOD team home after six-month deployment

HILL AIR FORCE BASE — Four reservists from the 419th Fighter Wing’s explosive ordnance disposal flight returned April 27 from a six-month deployment to Southwest Asia.

While overseas, the reservists worked with active-duty counterparts deployed from Hill Air Force Base’s 775th EOD flight. The Airmen responded to incidents near the base, including aircraft emergencies and threats of improvised explosive devices, or IEDs.

The reservists were recently named the 419th Mission Support Group’s Team of the Quarter for their efforts while deployed. The team include Maj. Mark Eilertsen, Tech. Sgt. John Cimmers, Staff Sgt. Carson Zachreson and Staff Sgt. Tim Zupancic.
