HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — On Aug. 9, a professional bicycle race pedaled its way through the installation. The annual Tour of Utah road cycling race is one of the top professional cycling events in the country and showcases some of the world’s best teams and cyclists.
This year’s Tour of Utah consisted of a prologue and 6 stages around the state that included stretches in St. George, Cedar City, Payson, Salt Lake City, Layton, Snowbird and Park City. Stage 3 of the race took riders on a 116-mile route from Antelope Island to Layton that included a circular route through Hill.
This is the second year in a row the race has passed through the base in northern Utah. Last year, competitors traveled through the base for the first time during the race’s fifth stage. For more information about the Tour of Utah including race results, visit www.tourofutah.com.
