HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — Each week, the Hill Aerospace Museum hosts Plane Talk, a lecture series featuring speakers related to heritage of Hill AFB, the U.S. Air Force, other military branches, and many other subjects related aerospace and the defense industry.
Justin R. Eccles will be the guest speaker for Plane Talk at 1 p.m. Feb. 9 at the museum theater. Admission is free and open to the public.
Eccles was born Dec. 8, 1928, in Ogden, Utah and graduated from Ogden High School in 1947. Following his 1953 graduation from Air Force flight school, Eccles was assigned to the 191st Fighter Group, a unit of the Utah Air National Guard in Salt Lake City.
He then moved to Nellis AFB, Nevada, to complete fighter training in 1954. During his stint in the Air Force, Eccles worked with the T-6G, T-28, T-33, as well as F-86 A, E and F aircraft.
After his time in the service, Eccles maintained a private pilot’s license and has owned a 1976 Decathalon, 1978 Grumman Tiger, 1973 Citabria and 1974 Maul.
