HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — November is Military Family Appreciation Month and Hill AFB’s Airman & Family Readiness Center is hosting a special appreciation event honoring all of our local military members and their families.
The event is Nov. 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Log Cabin. There will be multiple stations inside the Log Cabin including hot cocoa, games, coloring, crafts, music and a family Polaroid picture opportunity that comes with a sticker frame. McGruff, Sparky and EOD are expected to join in the festivities.
“Our Airmen are strong because their families are strong,” said Kimberly Taylor, A&FRC chief. “Despite the multiple challenges of military life, families face them together. It’s an honor to host an event each year recognizing the family as the backbone of each and every military member.”
Taylor said November is the designated month to take time out to thank military families for their invaluable sacrifices, exceptional service and dedication to our Nation.
“This is the month we take time out to recognize the courage and character of our military families, and how we support their remarkable resilience,” she said. “This is the chance to let our military families know they are absolutely appreciated for their heroism, resolution, and diligence to our Nation.”
She said we owe our military members and their families a tremendous debt for risking their lives in preserving our freedom and protecting us from harm.
“It is inspiring to see our military in action every day here at Hill AFB, and it is a privilege to honor our Airman and their families by hosting this exciting event,” said Tammy Custer, EFMP-FS at the A&FRC.
The event is open to all active duty, Guard, Reserves and retired military and their families. No RSVP is required.
