HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — It’s that time of year, again – tax season.
The Hill Air Force Base Tax Center offers free tax return preparation and electronic filing from IRS-certified volunteers for qualified individuals with total incomes of $54,000 or less to include active-duty service members.
The $54,000 threshold is in alignment with IRS guidance concerning the volunteer income tax assistance program, according to the Hill AFB Legal Office. In addition, the center’s hours of operations were changed this year to reduce the amount of time volunteer personnel were taken away from performing their primary duties.
There are other tax preparation services available to service members not eligible to use the s Hill AFB Tax Center. For example, people not eligible to use base’s center may be eligible to receive free tax assistance through Military OneSource.
