HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — The 2017 Combined Federal Campaign is off and running in the intermountain area.
The CFC, which runs Oct. 2, 2017, through Jan. 12, 2018, is an annual workplace charity campaign.
This year, Team Hill is kicking off the campaign at the Hill Aerospace Museum Sept. 28 at 11 a.m.
Bob Evans, co-anchor of Fox 13 News, will serve as emcee for the event. At least 50 charities will be on display and will share some of their inspirational stories.
The event is free and three food trucks will be available for lunch purchases. There will also be a bake sale.
For people not familiar with the CFC, here are a few examples of how your dollar can assist others:
A $120 donation can provide a family who has been displaced by a fire a place to stay for two nights; $50 will provide food for one injured animal; $52 delivers meals to senior citizens for a month, and $5 supports immunizations for five children.
CFC participation is voluntary and Team Hill members, both military and civilian, can donate any number of a charity organization by payroll deduction.
Payroll donations will no longer be made through myPay and cash donations are no longer accepted. Instead, CFC payroll deductions will be made using paper forms or online at www.opm.gov/showsomeloveCFC. E-check donations can be made at the same website.
Lastly, new regulation changes now allow federal retirees to participate in the CFC and donate through their annuities this year.
Donations are allowed through monthly annuity payments.
Whichever cause is important to you, the CFC will provide an opportunity to connect with thousands of organizations that can assist in changing the quality of lives for many.
