Registration is going on now for Clearfield City’s annual community event — Freedom 5K Run/2 Mile Walk. This untimed free event, which winds through the streets of Clearfield, kicks off the city’s annual Fourth of July celebration.
Participants have an option of purchasing a race shirt for $15 with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Air Force Association’s Wounded Airman Program.
Clearfield City and the Air Force Association joine to raise funds and awareness for the Wounded Airman Program. Examples of support that the Wounded Airman Program provides is prosthetics, financial aid, caregiver support, on-site support at adaptive sports camps, and much more. One-hundred percent of funds donated to the AFA’s Wounded Airman Program are used in direct support of wounded Airmen.
The Clearfield City Freedom 5k Fun Run/2 Mile Walk begins at 7:00 a.m. in front of Clearfield City Hall, 55 South State Street. In addition to the fun run/walk, registration includes race snacks, race ‘swag’ and an opportunity to win door prizes. For families and kids, there will be an obstacle course, archery tag, and vendors near the finish line. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome at the Freedom Fun Run/Walk.
