OGDEN — An estimated 2,800 to 3,000 participants — and an enormous Howitzer tank — moved through downtown Ogden for the 10th Ogden Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 7.
Crowds lined up along the parade route that began at Washington Boulevard and 31st Street and ended in historic downtown Ogden on 25th Street.
“This is the biggest parade we’ve had in entries and number of participants,” parade organizer Dennis Howland said. ”There were more area high schools involved and a lot more military from the Guard and Hill Air Force Base. We had custom vehicles we haven’t had in the past.”
Howland said there were 63 registered entries in the parade prior to Nov. 7 and another 15 or so joining right before the event’s start.
“It was incredible. Every individual that participated was great, the support from the city of Ogden was tremendous. They have always been good, and this year was not any different” Howland said.
