WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio — Air Force Materiel Command has ensured that help is literally just a click away at its installations.

Each of the command’s nine bases, including Hill Air Force Base, has developed a Helping Agency desktop or taskbar icon, which provides one-click access to a list of that installation’s helping agencies — to include services offered and contact information.

“Taking care of one another is at the core of our culture of respect and resiliency,” said Jennifer Treat, AFMC Community Support Coordinator. “There are so many resources available to our workforce, and now that information is at their fingertips.”

The idea for the icons originated at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., last fall. Following discussions at an AFMC senior leaders’ conference, AFMC Executive Director Michael Gill recommended that each of the command’s bases develop a similar icon.

“Information about base helping agencies is still available on base websites and by contacting the local Community Support Coordinator,” Treat said. “These icons are simply an exceptional tool that provides easy, immediate access to that same information.”
