PARK CITY, Utah — Airmen from Hill Air Force Base participated in a ceremony on Memorial Day to honor the courage and heroism of the seven Army Air Corps service members involved in an aircraft accident 77 years ago.

During a blinding snow storm Nov. 17, 1941, a B-18 bomber crashed into Iron Mountain two miles west of Park City. Only five of the seven Airmen survived the bailout.

The ceremony included speeches by officials and a service dedicated to the crew involved in the accident. In addition, the Utah Chapter of the Commemorative Air Force conducted a missing man formation flyover.
