The YMCA of Northern Utah, in partnership with the Armed Services YMCA, is proud to offer a new program for children of qualifying military families at special rates on YMCA summer camp programs.
Families with a parent or guardian who is currently an active duty service member in ranks E-1 to E-5, will qualify for the HEROES program rate.
Recipients will receive a week of any YMCA Summer Day Camp for $50 or a week of any YMCA Summer Overnight Camp for $150 for each child; a savings of 75 percent on most
programs.
The partnership between the YMCA of Northern Utah and the Armed Services YMCA was pursued to enhance opportunities for military families to participate in YMCA summer camp programs in Utah.
Richard West, YMCA of Northern Utah CEO said, “We are excited about this new partnership which recognizes the dedication, sacrifice and service of military personnel and their families.”
YMCA summer camp programs provide an enriching, positive, and inclusive environment for youth that helps build confidence and provide opportunities to cultivate new friendships. A variety of programs are offered in Wasatch, Salt Lake, Summit, Davis, and Weber counties and include STEM, traditional, and excursion-based camps.
The YMCA’s two overnight camps, Camp Roger and Camp Mill Hollow. Both camps offer weeklong experiences in the Uinta Mountains with activities like archery, hiking, arts plus crafts, equestrian, backpacking, and orienteering and more along with campfires, songs, skits, s’mores and other traditional camp activities.
