HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — Staff Sgt. Kyle Preece and Staff Sgt. Aaron Jarman, explosive ordnance disposal team members, demonstrate an EOD robot during “National Night Out” in Perry, Utah, Aug. 1.
The 419th Fighter Wing sent three Airmen to represent the Air Force Reserve at the event, which recognizes the service of police and emergency response personnel with displays and demos in local communities.
Along with the robot, which EOD experts use to find and safely destroy unexploded bombs, the reservists also brought a “bomb suit” and replicas of ordnance that Airmen might need to detonate in deployed environments.
419th EOD is home to 15 reservists who work and deploy alongside their active duty counterparts in the 775th EOD at Hill AFB. They also work regularly with local authorities during emergency response incidents such as bomb threats or security sweeps.
