AF recruiters feature ‘Spec Ops’ at Hill Air Show

Few things can compete with the flying aircraft and static displays during an air show, but Air Force recruiters at Hill’s Warriors Over the Wasatch Air and Space Show were able to draw thousands to their exhibit during this year’s event.

Recruiters assigned to the 368th Recruiting Squadron manned ‘The Air Force Special Ops Commando Experience’ trailer during the June 23-24 event.

“We believe that air shows are a great way for the Air Force to thank the public for their enduring support of our men and women in uniform,” said Senior Master Sgt. Dawn Roznos, 368th RCS recruiter.

Visitors at the venue were able to test their physical strength with a skills challenge by participating in an obstacle course. However, the highlight was an immersive, 360-degree virtual reality experience of Air Force Special Operations missions inside the air-conditioned trailer.

Visitors were able to “see, hear and feel” what it is like to be a part of one of the most elite teams in the U.S. military.

“We hope we can inspire the children who are awed by the amazing air power to grow up and become the next generation of heroes,” said Roznos. “We hope to educate the public, as well as entertain.”

The recruiters were able to answer questions about the more than 140 careers in the Air Force, as well as discuss the service’s exceptional trade-schools and training programs.

“If you’ve ever thought about serving your country, the roar of the jet engines provided the perfect backdrop for you to plan your future career,” said Roznos.
