Hill Aerospace Museum launches Summer STEM Passport Program

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah —

On June 5, the Hill Aerospace Museum will begin a new Summer STEM Passport Program free of charge.

The purpose of STEM is to get students interested in science, technology, engineering and math.

The museum’s education staff will offer classes in astronomy, chemistry, electricity, forces of flight, helicopters, simple machines and weather just to name a few of the subjects.

Tuesday through Thursday classes will start at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The classes will be open to students at least 8 years of age on a first come, first served basis. Parents are welcome to attend the classes with their students.

Each student will be issued a Museum STEM Passport. A subject page in the passport corresponding with each class will be stamped after a student completes each class session.

When a student gets all of their pages stamped by attending all of the classes, they will be eligible to receive a special pin and certificate from the museum’s Flight Line Gift Shop.

In addition, STEM Summer Saturdays, sponsored by Weber County RAMP, will also be a part of the STEM Passport Program. Classes will be focus on rockets and magnetics.
