Hill bowling center offers Kids Bowl Free program

This summer, children at Hill Air Force Base and other Air Force installations have the opportunity to bowl for free, thanks to the Kids Bowl Free program.

“The program creates opportunities and entertainment for youth and families of our Airmen, and it increases awareness of our Air Force bowling centers in each community,” said Jon Grammer, the Air Force Services Activity director of programs. “Bowling is a social activity that helps build and sustain readiness and resilience among our Airmen and their families.”

This nationwide program offers coupons to children ages 15 years and younger for two free games of bowling per day for the duration of the program. Members can use the coupon on any electronic device or print it for presentation to the center.

At Hill Lanes, children can bowl free 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesdays-Thursdays and noon-5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Hill Lanes is closed on Sundays and Mondays. There is a $2 charge to rent shoes, if needed.

An optional family pass can be purchased for $28.95 that allows up to four additional family members to bowl two games per day, all summer with the Kids Bowl Free member.

“To date, there are more than 11,000 kids who have signed up for Kids Bowl Free across more than 70 Air Force bowling centers, and more than 1,400 family passes were purchased within the first 10 days of the program launch date,” said Dustin Schmidt, the Air Force bowling program manager. “It’s been an extremely successful program, and one we’re very proud of.”

The program will run through Sept. 4. More information is available by visiting the Kids Bowl Free website, www.kidsbowlfree.com.
