Hill Aerospace Museum to host Open Aircraft Day

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah — The Hill Aerospace Museum is hosting its annual Open Aircraft Day from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 29. Admission is free and open to the public.

This year the museum will host more than twenty SR-71 pilots and other crew members that will hold panel discussions about their Blackbird experiences for the public. In addition, SR-71 crew members will provide tours of the aircraft on display at the museum throughout the day.

The special event will also include food, music, Hill Air Force Base unit demonstrations, displays, and a chance to explore several aircraft open to the public only for this event.

Open aircraft will include the SR-71 Blackbird, C-130 Hercules, A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-15 Eagle, B-17 Flying Fortress P-47 Thunderbolt, C-140 Jetstar, JN-4 Jenny, H-3 Sea King, H-53 Sea Stallion and more.

A variety of food trucks will be on hand for attendees to purchase food and drinks. The Ogden Concert Band and rock band “Article 15” will entertain guests throughout the day.
