Layton to host Veterans Day events

Layton City in partnership with Northern Utah’s Vietnam Veterans of America and Fleet Reserve Association will host three major events on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. The Veterans Day Parade will begin at 11:11 a.m. and proceed through Layton City to Layton Commons Park. The Annual Layton City Veterans Day Commemoration program will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Layton Commons Park Phase I Pavilion. The Vietnam Memorial Wall Groundbreaking Ceremony will take place at the conclusion of the Veterans Day Commemoration program. Emergency response exercises Nov. 13-17

Hill AFB will conduct a series of emergency response exercises Nov. 13-17. During exercises, residents on and around the installation might notice an increase in emergency response activities including movement of emergency vehicles and testing of the base’s “Giant Voice” public address system. Exercises test the ability of base personnel to respond to natural disasters and other emergency-related events.

FEHB health fair

Federal employees health benefits open season runs Nov. 13-Dec. 11. Employees can meet with health insurance representatives during the FEHB health fair to be held at the Warrior Fitness Center, building 533, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 7-9 and Dec. 5-7.

It is with deep regret that Lt. Col. Michael Samuel, 348th Recruiting Squadron commander, announces the death of Master Sgt. Justin Betts. AFMC Family Days observed in 2017

Hill AFB will observe the following AFMC Family Days in 2017: Nov. 24, in conjunction with Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 23; and Dec. 26, in conjunction with Christmas on Dec. 25. The Hill AFB Roy Gate will be closed on all holidays including the Nov. 24 AFMC Family Day. Supervisors are encouraged to follow liberal leave procedures for Family Days and may approve annual leave, compensatory time, time-off award, credit hours, or leave without pay for their employees. Immunization clinic closure notice

The 75th Medical Group Immunizations Clinic will be closed daily from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please note that the last sign-in for morning services will be at 11 a.m. In addition, the immunizations clinic closes every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. for smallpox vaccinations administration.
