ALS Civilian Attendance

Are you interested in learning how to be an effective supervisor and leader in your work center? All eligible Team Hill civilian employees are now able to attend the Hill Airman Leadership School starting in August. This enlisted professional military education course is a voluntary opportunity to broaden knowledge of the military profession while learning leadership skills and how to lead and manage teams. The knowledge gained through this course will not only provide a background on how to supervise military, but it also enhances skills for supervising civilian employees. All completed nomination packages are due to the ALS org box 75FSS.FSDA@us.af.mil by June 30 with selection by July 10. Salute Picnic

All active duty, guard and reserve personnel and their families are invited to the annual Salute Picnic July 14 from 3-6 p.m. at Centennial Park. Alpha Warriors coming to Hill

The Warrior Fitness Center is hosting special family events July 14-15. Alpha Warrior pros will sign autographs July 14 from 8-9 a.m. at the Warrior Fitness Center, 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Hillcrest Dining Facility, 1:45-3:30 pm. at the Youth Center, and 4-6 p.m. at the Salute Picnic in Centennial Park. Competition day will be July 15. Visitors ages 13 and above can test their strength on the adult Alpha Warrior Battle Rig, and kids 4-12 years of age can compete on the youth rig. 2017 Utah Disabled Veteran fishing event

The Utah Disabled Veteran Fishing Foundation needs volunteers and boats for their annual fishing event 7 a.m.-3 p.m., July 15 at Soldier Creek Marina, Soldier Creek Recreation Area on Strawberry Reservoir.

Entry fees will be waived for volunteers. Boater registration and launching boats will be at 6 a.m. at the boat ramp. Each boat will be assigned and given a number to display. All boats will be launched and called into to load vets, who will arrive at 7 a.m.

Retiree Activities Office director needed

The RAO is seeking someone to fill the volunteer director position to fellow military retirees and dependents. In this position, the RAO director coordinates the activities of 10 volunteers and principle functions include: (1) facilitating contact between military retirees/dependents and appropriate duty experts; (2) providing general installation information/activities; (3) providing input into planning the annual Retiree Appreciation Day; and, (4) providing periodic informational updates to the military retiree community. This position reports directly to the 75th Air Base Wing vice commander. If interested, contact the 75th ABW Command Center at 801-777-7500.

Parking lot closure

Full rows from east to west in the southernmost third of Parking Lot #1, located north of the Base Exchange parking lot, will be closed from noon on June 25 through 5 p.m. on Aug. 20. However, the west end road will remain open to facilitate access to the IB Store and Security Forces building.

Tour of Utah volunteers needed

The 2017 Tour of Utah will pass through Hill AFB in August. Many volunteers are needed for the weeklong, professional cycling event. To volunteer for the Hill AFB segment, submit an application at www.tourofutah.com and request Hill AFB as the site you’d like to volunteer.

AFMC Family Days observed in 2017

Hill AFB will observe the following AFMC Family Days in 2017: July 3, in conjunction with Independence Day on July 4; Sept. 1, in conjunction with Labor Day on Sept. 4; Nov. 24, in conjunction with Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 23; and Dec. 26, in conjunction with Christmas on Dec. 25. The Hill AFB Roy Gate will be closed on all holidays including the Nov. 24 AFMC Family Day. Supervisors are encouraged to follow liberal leave procedures for Family Days and may approve annual leave, compensatory time, time-off award, credit hours, or leave without pay for their employees.
