2016 Intermountain CFC Campaign: “Show Some Love”

The 2016 Intermountain Combined Federal Campaign “Show Some Love” kicked off Sept. 29 at The Landing here.

The robust event would not have been possible were it not for attendees including CFC donors and volunteers, master of ceremonies Bob Evans, and the charities and beneficiaries who took time to bring awareness by highlighting the positive impacts CFC donations provide.

Payroll deduction remains the most popular method to contribute, mostly for its convenience and ease of use. To research charities and to set up contributions through payroll deduction, you should contact your unit key worker for informational booklets and contribution forms. You can also get the same information at https://www.cfcnexus.org/_intermountaincfc/.

For those who do not like to donate through payroll deduction, there are many opportunities to promote the CFC and contribute by providing time and service to volunteer projects, basewide functions, and unit-level activities. The events are free or include a nominal participation charge, which covers event costs (e.g., $1.50 bowling games); wellness time can be used for participation.

During the CFC Campaign, fundraisers on Hill AFB are prohibited unless the proceeds or a portion of the proceeds are donated to CFC. All proceeds raised through CFC events will be donated to the undesignated fund where contributions are provided to all the charities receiving donations during the Intermountain CFC Campaign and are percentage based. The following CFC benefit events are available to the Hill AFB community, and all are invited to participate:

• Bubble Ball Tour at the Hess Fitness Center, Oct. 20

• Zombie Run at the Hess Fitness Center, Oct. 21

• Bowling Tour at the Hill AFB Bowling Center, Oct. 28

• Costume Contest, ongoing thru Nov. 10. Post your pictures on Facebook at IntermountainCFC for your chance to win an Amazon gift card

For more information or to sign up for events, please contact Hill AFB CFC Event Coordinator, Tech. Sgt. Willie Dawkins, at willie.dawkins@us.af.mil.

The following social media is available and encouraged for use by the Hill AFB community to share their CFC communications:

• Show Some Love on Twitter #showsomeloveCFC

• Like on Facebook at Intermountain CFC page

• For more info, see Intermountain CFC website at http://www.intermountaincfc.org/home.aspx

This year’s campaign remains open for contributions through Dec. 15, 2016, and contributions are tax-deductible. Donors get to choose whether to release their information (e.g., name, gift amount) to their selected charities or they can remain anonymous. Thank you for your support of the charities you are passionate about.
